Chicago, IL… State Representative Michael McAuliffe (R-Chicago) is pleased to announce he will be hosting a community food drive for the holidays during the month of December to fill the holiday need at the New Hope United Methodist and Windy City Community Church Food Pantries.
“The holiday season is a great opportunity to reach out to the community and help those who are in need enjoy the holidays,” said State Rep. McAuliffe.
The first week of the drive will be from Sunday November 29th- Saturday December 5th at Ada’s Market, 6165 N Northwest Hwy. The second week of the drive will be from Sunday December 6th– Saturday December 12th at Happy Foods 6783 Northwest Highway, Edison Park.
“With Thanksgiving just having passed, food pantries need to replenish” McAuliffe continued. “If you are able, please consider picking up an extra item during your usual shopping at one of these locations.”
Monetary donations can also be made to the New Hope and Windy City food pantries online. Monetary donations help the pantry provide a balanced variety of food, in addition to the nonperishable food items, which are very welcome and much needed. For more information call (773) 444-0611.
