Illinois drivers between the ages of 21 and 80 must renew their license every four years. Drivers between the ages of 81 and 86 must renew their driver’s license every two years. Those 87 and
older must renew their driver’s license each year. All drivers 75 years and older are required to take a driving test and a vision examination each time they renew their license.
Rep. McAuliffe is pleased to provide to seniors the Rules of the Road Review Course. This free program is facilitated through the Secretary of State’s Office and is designed to give
drivers the knowledge and confidence needed to pass the driver’s license renewal exam.
